总统寄语
亲爱的朋友们:
我谨代表我国政府和人民,向中国人民的英明领导胡锦涛主席致以由衷的敬意,并对中国政府和人民的热情邀请表示诚挚的感谢。我在此重申,利比里亚政府将毫不动摇地坚持一个中国的原则,这一政策已经写入我们的法律。
我将借此次访问的机会进一步增进中利双方在经济、政治、社会,贸易及技术等领域的合作。
长达十五年的内战严重破坏了我们的基础设施和社会制度,但同时也给我们两国带来了新的机遇。一方面利比里亚可以从中国,这一当今国际社会的重要力量身上,学到自身发展所需要的技术和方法;另一方面,通过帮助利比里亚重新组织和转化资源,中国将进一步巩固在国际政坛的地位。这对双方都是有利的,在这场合作中只有双赢。
利比里亚虽然遭受了内战的苦难,但并非一穷二白。实际上,我们拥有丰裕的人力资源,物质资源和自然资源,更重要的是,我们已经获得了能让我们和中国政府,中国人民和中国商界一起发掘利比里亚无限潜力的和平。因此,我谨代表骄傲的、历史悠久的利比里亚人民,衷心希望增进两国的友谊、理解及合作,并期待能创造一种"新的开始",相信它会成为国际合作的典范。

Dear Friends:
On behalf of my country and people,I present my compliments to your illustrious leader,President Hu Jintao,and extend my best wishes to the Chinese Government and people for their invitation to visit with you.I reassure you of my administration's unwavering commitment to the One China Policy which is also written into our laws.
l should like to use the opportunity of this visit to accelerate the pace of our economic,political,social,trade,and technical integration across allsectors.
The 15year civil war in Liberia has severely impacted our infrastructure and institutions.But theseevents also create brilliant new opportunities for our two countries.Liberia must learn thetechniques and methods of China's current greatness on the world stage,while China continuesto consolidate its position by helping Liberia to organize and transform our resources for the mutua|benefit of our countries.
ln spite of our civil war,Liberia is not a poor country.Our country possesses important resources,human and material,great natural wealth,and we have found the peace which will allow us todevelop our potentialSMpartnership with the government,people,and business of China.Therefore,on behalf of the proud and historic Liberian people,lextend a hand of warm friendship,understanding and co-operation in the world.

恰值我国总统对中华人民共和国进行国事访问之机,我怀着无比骄傲和愉悦的心情,向诸位传递友好与合作的信息。同时,更令人兴奋的是作为利比里亚的也是非洲的首位女性总统,瑟利夫总统也将参加第一届中非首脑峰会。
作为利比里亚驻华大使,通过创立与中华人民共和国的广泛的经济、贸易及发展伙伴关系从而协助总统巩固国内的和平是我义不容辞的责任。因此,为了使利比里亚和中国的合作尽可能的深入,我们组织编辑了一些相当有用的信息。
但是,这仅仅是一个开始。我向诸位保证,我会用自己的经验来把一个积极、充满建设性的中利关系推向未来。我愿与诸位讨论任何关于两国合作的创意,提供所需的信息,为两国的企业和个人的合作提供帮助,创造机遇。

lt is with great pride and pleasure that l extend to you a message of goodwill and co-operation on theauspicious occasion of my President's State Visit to the People's Republic of China.It is,indeed,also an exciting time when Liberia's and Africa's first female President will also attend the 1st everSINO-AFRICAN summit.
As Liberia's Ambassador to China,l hold a special responsibility to help our President consolidate peace through the creation of wide-ranging economic,trade and development partnerships with thepeople's Republic of China.To this effect,we have complied and organized useful information designed to facilitate maximum co-operation between Liberia and China.

利比里亚总统约翰逊—瑟利夫
约翰逊—瑟利夫总统
应国家主席胡锦涛邀请，利比里亚共和国总统埃伦·约翰逊—瑟利夫将于10月28日起对中国进行国事访问。
约翰逊—瑟利夫出生于1938年。她早年留学美国，并获得美国哈佛大学公共管理学硕士学位。
1977年至1980年，约翰逊—瑟利夫历任利比里亚财政部部长助理、副部长和部长。1985年，她当选参议员。2003年至2005年，她任利比里亚全国过渡政府“政府改革委员会”主席。
约翰逊—瑟利夫曾在国际组织和金融机构供职多年，担任过世界银行、联合国开发计划署和花旗银行的高级职务。
2005年11月，约翰逊—瑟利夫在利比里亚总统选举中获胜，成为非洲历史上首位民选女总统。2006年1月，她正式宣誓就职。
十一月一日，北京人民大会堂，中国国务院总理温家宝与来华访问并出席中非合作论坛北京峰会的利比里亚共和国总统埃伦·约翰逊-瑟利夫举行会谈。
